A custom solution solves spacing and storage issues. Our client did not want to spend tens of thousands for a fully built-in customised solution. They actually saw a built-in wardrobe they liked in IKEA. But it could not fill up the whole wall because firstly, it was not wide enough and secondly, there was an existing chimney stack in the way, not an uncommon problem in many Victorian houses around the capital today.

We discussed what they needed – which was more wardrobe space and ideally, space for their television. The solution? We built shelves to cover the chimney stack, but aligned the new shelves with their off-the-shelf built-in wardrobe. We were also able to match the same colour for these customised shelves with their IKEA wardrobe.

The result? A seamless solution to fit around an off-the-shelf solution. In addition to this, we designed this shelving to accommodate their flat screen television – which is exactly what they wanted. Problem solved.

Happy client.
